Update: Tax Credit Closing Deadline, NFIP Extensions
After a close brush with the deadline, Congress has passed an extension of the Homebuyer Tax Credit closing deadline, the Homebuyer Assistance and Improvement Act (H.R. 5623) . The extension applies only to transactions that have ratified contracts in place as of April 30, 2010 that have not yet closed.
Additionally, the United States Senate has passed the National Flood Insurance Program Extension Act of 2010 (H.R. 5569) an extension of the National Flood Insurance Program until September 30, 2010.

The Web site also helps home owners learn about public policy issues relevant to them. As part of the HouseLogic site, NAR has developed a companion tool, the REALTOR® Content Resource, that offers free content to help REALTORS® build their business.

2009 Legal Scan (NRDS Log-in Required)
The Legal Scan is a biennial research project undertaken by NAR Legal Affairs. The Scan systematically collects information on 94 issues in eleven major topic areas that involve the legal liability of real estate brokers, salespeople, and real estate managers. The Scan is a valuable tool not only because it tracks when real estate professionals are currently being held liable, but it also identifies emerging issues and trends, helping to reveal where additional training is needed.

Webinar on Final RESPA Rule
To clarify some of the confusion surrounding NAR's position, and other industry stakeholders views on the final RESPA rule, NAR hosted a web conference featuring RESPA attorney Phil Schulman.
